NHS Employers want to hear about flu-fighter teams who have engaged with people who look after a loved one, and promoted their right to a free flu vaccination.
I hear from carers throughout the flu vaccination season who have found it really useful and convenient getting a flu vaccination on the spot while they picked up medication for their loved one. The Carers Flu-fighter Award was created in 2015 to acknowledge the dedication of teams identifying carers for the free vaccination. Both winners have been community pharmacies, with the more recent one being Cray Hill Pharmacy in Orpington, Kent
Flu-fighter teams who are shortlisted will be invited to the awards ceremony which will be attended by key NHS leaders. The closing date for nominations is Sunday, 5th March.
