On 24th March I took part in #pharmacy24, a 24-hour Twitter pharmacy event. I’ve picked out some tweets from the whole event to show the variety of work that pharmacists and pharmacy teams do.
1,425 pharmacy professionals took part, with a total of 10,939 tweets, with a total reach of over 21 million! To see my tweets about my role as Volunteer Pharmacist with Action for M.E. and other tweets I posted during the event click here.
Pharmacists and technicians tweeted throughout their working day in community pharmacies, hospitals, universities, the pharmaceutical industry and more, to demonstrate the many diverse roles pharmacy professionals have, show how our roles are improving patient care and safety, and why pharmacy is an essential part of the NHS. Support your local pharmacy and sign the petition against cuts which could close up to 1 in 4 pharmacies.
You can have a look through the tweets using the hashtag #pharmacy24 or I’ve picked out some tweets from different pharmacy sectors:

I hope so too as the event clearly showed how pharmacy contributes to the NHS, particularly sorting medication problems, preventing the need to use other parts of the NHS, and saving money. Thanks for your comment, Keeby 🙂
